“Liquid Tulips” is a bold, colorful impression of red tulips. I grow the most gorgeous red tulips and they are a feast for the eyes in spring. In this piece I did not control the medium but rather let it speak and so it has the feeling of layers of water and movement.




About the Maker
Melissa Anne Smith, a Northern Michigan-based artist, draws inspiration from her faith, nature, and the lakeshore. Living with her husband of 25 years and four of their six children, she works across multiple mediums, including oil, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. For her, art is a soulful expression that connects people beyond differences, offering a shared sense of beauty and life.
