“The Bridge” was painted plein air on an overcast late summer morning during Petoskey, Michigan’s Summer Paint Out. This scene had such an ancient feeling about it, the lovely bridge is framed in layers of verdant trees and the sound of a lively river fills the air. As I stood there trying to capture a bit of the soul of the place, I felt time melt away and let my senses be filled with the beauty of it all.
