“Private Beach” is about the lovely hidden beaches in Elk Rapids, Michigan. This one faces the marina in the distance. It depicts the colors on a perfect Northern Michigan summer day.
Melissa Anne Smith, a Northern Michigan-based artist, draws inspiration from her faith, nature, and the lakeshore. Living with her husband of 25 years and four of their six children, she works across multiple mediums, including oil, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. For her, art is a soulful expression that connects people beyond differences, offering a shared sense of beauty and life.
