About the Maker
I came to Traverse City, MI with the United States Coast Guard in the mid 1980's and ended up returning to TC in 2003 upon my retirement from the USCG. I started a new chapter shortly thereafter as an RN, attending NMC’s nursing school.
Upon graduation from nursing school my in-laws gave me a wood lathe, which I have very much enjoyed. The lathe has enabled me to hone my woodworking skills and create many amazing bowls. The variety of native woods in Northern Michigan has allowed me to combine and contrast many woods to enhance their natural strengths and beauty.
I find that making bowls provides me a certain peace where the bowl becomes my focus, while also exploring my creativity. I hope you get as much joy out of my bowls as I get making them.
